We’re now, quite unbelievably, approaching Jake’s first birthday in a few weeks’ time, and are about six months into his exciting weaning journey. I think he has done incredibly well with the whole learning-to-eat thing, and he already seems to love his food, now enjoying a wide variety of flavours and textures. He loves his morning porridge and chomping on buttered toast and baby biscuits, as well as his favourite HiPP pouches and jars. He is very into yogurt at the moment too!
The other big development in recent weeks has been his increasing mobility – now he can crawl like a demon, pull himself up to standing and cruise about the furniture, we have to have eyes everywhere!
With his growing activity levels he is also getting a growing appetite to fuel his adventures, and I think it’s really important to start to instil healthy habits even at this early stage. He loves fruit pouches and soft fruit to munch on, and a lot of his meals are packed with vegetables to give him the vitamins he will need when he stops having his usual HiPP Organic formula milk and transitions to cow’s milk in the next few weeks.
It’s also reassuring to know that working with HiPP means we are getting high quality products to try too. Family beliefs and values embody HiPP Organic, who are instinctively organic and have been for over 60 years. HiPP believe in organic for a better legacy, using farming techniques that leave the soil full of nutrients for the next generation.
All HiPP Organic baby foods are made with the finest organic ingredients which are tested for up to 1,200 different pollutants, prior to being accepted for use in the production process. As a result, only flawless organic ingredients are used in HiPP’s products providing the best possible quality food for all babies & young children.
Jake definitely seems to have had a bit of a growth spurt recently, and as he becomes more independent it’s even more important to give him the nutrients he needs to grow and develop as he should.
We’re going on holiday to Mallorca at the end of July, after Jake turns one, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how he gets on with a whole hotel buffet to choose from! Will he be taking his first steps by then? We’ll have to wait and see….
HiPP Organic has a really useful guide on their website about nutrition. It includes useful pointers for keeping your little one healthy.
I am working with HiPP Organic as a member of their Wean Team blogger programme. I have received a selection of their products to try this month. Any opinions of the products are my own.
