Jake’s on the HiPP Organic Wean Team!

Before Christmas Jake and I took our first trip on a big train together to travel down to Birmingham for the day to attend the HiPP Organic Wean Team launch brunch. We were very excited (or at least I was!) to be joining the Wean Team, following every step of Jake’s weaning journey over the coming 12 months, and we had a lovely time meeting the other bloggers and their gorgeous babies, along with the fab HiPP team.

HiPP Organic is a family run company which was created by Joseph HiPP, who in 1899 created the rusk after his wife was having difficulty nursing their twins. The popularity of this rusk grew and grew, and in 1932 Joseph HiPP launched his own company. Later, in 1956 Joseph’s son Georg expanded the family business and developed new industrial manufacturing process for organic baby food in jars. Today HiPP Organic is run by Georg’s son Claus and grandson Stefan.

HiPP has a product range of more than 150 products in the UK, and we were sent a fantastic selection of them including pouches, jars, baby rice and fruit pots to give Jake his first foray into food. We also got a soft and cuddly HiPPofant who soon made a new friend!

As he is just approaching six months, we have only just started trying him with a few spoonfuls in the last week or so. As you can imagine, he hasn’t been entirely taken with these strange new tastes but he has been receptive to trying a few of the different fruit purees, and in the last couple of days he has had a bit more baby rice – I felt it was an achievement to get him to eat a whole teaspoon of rice mixed with his milk (obviously a little bit at a time)! Not bad to start with.

I think we are going to have a lot of fun over the coming months – please join us and let me know how your weaning journey is going. What does your little one like to eat?
